Agrabah is the fictitious setting of the 1992 film Aladdin.




Appearances and allusions[]

Adventureland Bazaar[]

The Adventureland Bazaar is themed to being a middle-eastern bazaar, possibly being set in the Arabian kingdom of Agrabah from Aladdin. In Disneyland Paris this is taken further with it being heavily themed to the 1001 Arabian Nights fairy-tales, including Aladdin.

In Disneyland, the bazaar features, "Aladdin's Other Lamp" which is a coin-operated lamp which offers out advice to guests. In Disneyland Paris it is decorated with murals of different characters from the Arabian Nights stories and have establishments named for their figures. Outside of this bazaar is a tower with the nest of a Roc and its giant egg atop it.

Disney Springs[]

A board in Disney Springs' marketplace mentions an airplane arrival from Agrabah coming to the town.[1] During the Holiday seasons, a poster for, "Red Carpet Airlines" can be found promoting travel to the kingdom.[2]

Magic Carpets of Aladdin[]

In this Adventureland attraction, guests board one of 16 flying carpets modelled after the original magic carpet which were created by the Genie.

Mickey's PhilharMagic[]

In this attraction, Donald Duck is transported to Agrabah via the magic hat of Yen Sid which he stole from Mickey Mouse. What follows is a sequence recreating, "A Whole New World" over the skies of the kingdom as Donald flies nearby Aladdin and Jasmine.

Storybook Land Canal Boats[]

Agrabah is one of the film locations featured in this Fantasyland attraction.


Jungle Cruise[]

The Jungle Navigation Company affiliate Professor Harper Goff held services and offices were in the Adventureland Bazaar, an Arabian market-place presumed to be located in Agrabah. The surname Goff also reappears in the form of inventor R.H. Goff in the queue for the Magic Kingdom's Haunted Mansion and the cartographer H. Goff outside of Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid.

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]

A genie lamp resembling that from Aladdin is on one of the shelves of Trader Sam's bar. Trader Sam here being a character from the Jungle Cruise who is connected to several Disney properties.

Tropical Hideaway[]

Several remnants from Aladdin's Oasis remain in the restaurant which was previously known as Aladdin's Oasis. Notably there is a mosaic of Aladdin's Magic Carpet decorating the floor and a Trader's Market selling, "Exotic Lamps" and, "Magic Carpets".[3]

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room[]

During the short-lived Enchanted Tiki Room (Under New Management) attraction, the show would be hosted by the characters of Iago from Aladdin and Zazu from the Lion King. Iago would sing a parody of, "Friend like me" from the film titled, "Friend like Iago".
