The Chachapoyan Fertility Idol is an object from the film Raiders of the Lost Ark which has been retconned into the Disney Parks mythos.

The Chachapoyan Fertility Idol is a golden idol portraying the ancient Chachapoyan goddess of fertility Pachamama.

The idol was created around the year 64 BC, presumably by the Chachapoyan who held it as a sacred religious artifact. It was kept in a temple within the jungles of Peru which was protected by Chachapoyan warriors and several booby-traps such as spikes, blow-darts and a trigger which releases a giant boulder on command. Over the centuries many sought the idol out only to be killed by the deadly temple which housed it.

In the July of 1936, the idol was sought after by archaeologist/adventurer, Indiana Jones. Jones travelled to Peru with his pilot Jock Lindsey aboard Lindsey's plane the OB-CPO. Jones managed to find the temple with help from the guide Satipo only to be betrayed by Satipo who stole the idol and Jones' whip before leaving him to die at the hands of the temple's traps. Jones managed to escape however and recovered the idol from Satipo's corpse after the thief was killed by a spike-trap.

However not long after, the idol would be stolen from Jones by scheming French archaeologist and nazi supporter René Emile Belloq who had deceived the Chachapoyan people to arrest Jones so that he could steal the idol for himself. Jones and Jock managed to escape from the region but the idol remained in Belloq's possession.

During or following the year 1955, Jones tracked the idol's location to Marrakesh.[1] Indy wired Jock money in order to travel to Marakesh and retrieve the idol, refusing to let it slip through their fingers again. Jock succeeded and would bring the idol to his waterfront Hangar Bar in the town of Disney Springs, Florida.

Jungle Cruise

Radio-announcer Albert Awol alludes to the Fertility Idol on his radio-broadcast in the queue of the Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom. In it, he mentions golden idols as being one of the highlights of traveling through the rainforests of South America.

During the Summer of Hidden Mysteries event, the idol was one of many objects from Indiana Jones' adventures which was located on the attraction. In the overlay's story, this idol was one of several relics accidentally left behind from Indiana traversing the jungle which would be reclaimed by the Jungle Navigation Company.

Jungle Cruise: Curse of the Emerald Trinity

A solid gold idol in Peru is mentioned in the Daily Colonial Journal newspapers in an article dedicated to Garrett Reed's crimes and history with Indiana Jones. This is however years before the actual events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, meaning that it is likely a separate idol resembling the Chachapoyan Fertility Idol.

Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar

The idol physically appears on a shelf in Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar. Jock not only being a character from Raiders of the Lost Ark but also a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. It is also mentioned in a letter sent to Jock from one, "Diego" from before the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark and by Jock himself in his flight log.[2]
