The Tiki Room Birds are a group of characters from Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. They are the performers at the Tiki Room, singing songs to please the Tiki Gods and to entertain the passing guests.


Background[]

The Tiki Birds migrated to the Tiki Room somewhere in the Polynesian islands, where they gained the ability to speak.

Claude Claude and Clyde Birdbrain are a pair of toucans in the pre-show at the Magic Kingdom. They tell the story of how they discovered the Tiki Room by traveling through the Jungle Cruise. José José is the de-facto leader of the group, beginning the show when the cast member wakes him up. He is the red, green, yellow, blue, and white parrot with a Mexican accent. Juan and Uti
Juan the Barker Bird Juan the Barker Bird stood outside of the attraction, telling guests to come to the attraction. He was a blue and white parrot with a straw hat, collar, and bowtie. He was played by Wally Boag, using the same Mexican accent he used for José. A replica of Juan sits at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, California. Michael
Michael Michael is the green, yellow, and white parrot with an British accent. He is the most straightlaced of the group, not cracking as many jokes as his co-hosts and warning everyone of the Tiki god’s wrath. Pierre Pierre is the blue, red, and white parrot with a French accent. He is the romantic one, flirting with the showgirl birds when they descend and apologizing to a woman he felt that he whistled at. Rosita Rosita was once one of the showgirl birds, until she decided to go solo. She sits on top of a pile of her luggage at The Tropical Hideaway, waiting for a boat from the Jungle Navigation Company to pick her up. Barker Bird The Barker Bird was a counterpart to Juan the Barker Bird who was also found in Walt Disney World's Adventureland. This bird was a green macaw with a nautical tattoo, peg-leg, eyepatch and pirate's hat which was located outside of the Castillo del Morro fortress at the entrance to Pirates of the Caribbean. It served the same function as Juan while quoting the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and singing, "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me" as, "Yo Ho (A Parrot's life for me)". Pirates of the Caribbean

Iago Iago was the partial owner of the Tiki Room, wanting to change it to become more hip and trendy. He didn’t care about the threats of the Tiki gods, until Uh-Oa unleashed his wrath upon him. He was played by Gilbert Gottfried, reprising his role from Aladdin. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Orange Bird The Florida Orange Bird was never a part of the Tiki Room, but his placement in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom ties him close with the Tiki Room. In Disney Kingdoms: Enchanted Tiki Room, he auditioned to take José’s place when he went solo. He was turned down, due to his inability to talk or sing. Sunshine Tree Terrace

The Masters of Ceremonies were José, Michael, Pierre and Fritz.

The Showgirl Birds come down on a bird mobile in the middle of the room. They are white cockatoos with French names - Collette, Suzette, Mimi, Gigi, Fifi, and Josephine. In Aloha E Komo Mai!, they wear Stitch ears when they come down and sing.

Eight macaws, twelve toucans, six cockatoos, nine forktails, and an assortment of other birds make up the glee club and the rest of the bird chorus.

During the Tiki Takeover event, wooden carvings of a showgirl bird and Jose were added to the exterior of this club.[1]

Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar[]

A letter from Jose to Trader Sam inquires on if Sam knows Rosita's whereabouts due to the birds of the Tiki Room trying to settle a bet.[2]

Tales from Adventureland[]

In these books, the Tiki Room is a sanctuary for the birds created by the Menehune to live free away from poachers, protected by the Tiki Gods.
