Appearances[]

The Jungle Cruise[]

The gorillas appear along the Congo, raiding a JNC base-camp. In the queue for the Magic Kingdom's version of the ride, they are mentioned by Albert Awol. Awol makes several allusions to them destroying JNC equipment, their base-camp, and the jeep seen at the camp. In Disneyland's queue spiel they are reported by Nigel Greenwater to have raided the camp of a group of hunters prior to having raided the JNC camp.

The Daily Gnus[]

An article called IS HAMLET MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING? by Thompson J. Gazelle reviews a production of Hamlet put on by the gorillas using equipment stolen from a JNC outpost. The gorilla Kojo the Silverback is named as being a veteran performer of the troop.

Other appearances[]

Kinect Disneyland Adventures[]

The gorillas are minor antagonists in this video-game where the player must prevent them from destroying precious artifacts.

Other Connections[]

Tarzan/Tarzan's Treehouse[]

The gorillas from Tarzan hold some connections to those from the Jungle Cruise and might be of the same troop as both presumably live in the same region of the Congo. In Hong Kong Disneyland's version of the Jungle Cruise, a nearby radio plays the song, "Trashin' the camp" which comes from the film Tarzan from a scene where the film's gorillas performed a similar act. One of the gorillas in Tarzan homages the Jungle Cruise when it examines a rifle by holding its barrel to their face, an action taken from the gorillas of the ride.

Trivia[]

  • One of the original gorilla animatronics from the Jungle Cruise was repurposed for the Yeti in Matterhorn Bobsleds.
